Are you an Experienced Medical Records professional who is flexible with your work schedule and able to work independently? You you have top notch time management and organizational skills? Can you communicate clearly and train others to excel? If so, you would be the next Regional Medical Records Coordinator at Carespring Healthcare Management in Loveland, OH.

You will be instrumental in maintaining medical records according to government regulations, professional standards, and facility policies / procedures. You will ensure complete, timely, and accurate medical records, necessary for the smooth operation of our healthcare facilities.

You must be able to positively interact and communicate with the leadership team across multiple facilities. You'll also need to be proficient with Microsoft Word and Excel and obtain ICD-10 CM Coding certification within 90 days of hire.

You'll Be Responsible For:

  • Performing interim coverage as needed
  • Training new Medical Records Coordinators to ensure consistent quality
  • Conducting routine audits of in-house charts to ensure completeness & accuracy
  • Completing focus audits & PI audits on specific topics as directed
  • Performing routine audits of discharged charts to maintain completeness and accuracy
  • Filing & retrieve medical records efficiently
  • Processing requests for medical information as directed such as requests from residents, attorneys, insurance reimbursement, or in response to a subpoena
  • Helping to maintain the Release of the Information Log for all medical record requests & copies released for payment, continuity of care, & health care operations
  • Upholding the confidentiality of medical records by ensuring the security of health information
  • Assisting with monitoring physician visits & reporting any non-compliance
  • Assisting with thinning charts, maintaining destruction logs, & managing records at off-site storage facilities
  • Helping to assign ICD-10 CM codes for resident diagnoses
  • Assisting facilities with surveys & survey preparedness
  • Traveling to various locations
  • Completing additional in-services/trainings as assigned

You'll Need To Have:

One of the following certifications from AHIMA (American Health Information Management Association) is preferred:

  • RHIA (Registered Health Information Administrator)
  • RHIT (Registered Health Information Technician)
  • CCA (Certified Coding Associate)
  • CCS (Certified Coding Specialist)
  • CHDA (Certified Health Data Analyst)
  • CHPS (Certified in Healthcare Privacy and Security)
